ENG SILAS NGARI I am a self driven engineer who has experience in both public and private sector environment having worked for 10 years in the Ministry of Works and 21 years GIBB Africa Ltd. My experience spans from feasibility study, geotechnical surveys, residential/commercial/institutional/industrial infrastructure requirement studies, concept designs, Preliminary designs, detailed designs, procurement stages support, construction supervision and handover, project management, Independent project management, Financing support, performing condition surveys studies and arbitration. These projects have included various types of projects including building structures, bridges and drainage structures, water and waste water structures, Power transmission and substation structures, telecommunications structures and coastal structures. The projects have been carried out in various locations including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Eritrea, South Sudan, Ghana, Libya, South Sudan, Gabon, Malawi, Zambia and Mauritius. My services in the above projects have included leading teams at senior levels, actual design and supervision of construction, consultancy procurement and contracting, evaluating risks and mitigating them, quality control, timely deliverables to clients, staffing and budgets control. I am therefore confident of being able to handle assignments both large and small at all stages of the project as required, delivering quality and timely services to clients that exceed their expectations, being responsible for my inputs and following the applicable local and international standards. In my assignments, I have designed buildings, bridges and other structures using steel, concrete and timber. The software that I have used include Prokon, Strap, Staad, Revit and Midas, Autodesk, MS project and AutoCAD. My preference is working remotely on contract basis and submitting deliverables through BIM or other models and having virtual conferences whenever necessary.
