About

I am writing to express my interest in pursuing the online projects in scientific writing, tutoring biology, and related subjects, article formatting, or document formatting and so on. Recently, I completed my Ph.D. (Genetics) in June 2022, under the direction of Prof Dr. Kun Xia and the co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Hu Zhengmao from Central South University, Changsha, Hunan, China. My area of research interest is related to human genetic disorders. My doctoral research focuses on the mutation in NEMF (Nuclear export mediator factor) gene underpinning the neurological disorder ‘intellectual disability’ and OTOF (otoferlin) gene that causes hearing loss in families recruited from Pakistan, Slovenia, and Saudi Arabia. NEMF gene is involved in the recruitment and support of subunit Listerin of ribosome quality control complex (RQC). Using genetic and molecular techniques, I found NEMF mutations are involved in causing intellectual disability. In the other part of the project, I carried out a genetic analysis and minigene assay of a known mutation in OTOF causing profound hearing loss in the family recruited. In addition, I have experience in recruiting families with genetic disorders from the open field, clinical data assessment, PCR techniques, adobe illustrator, endnote reference manager, primer design, and SeqMan pro. I have self-sufficient good communication, and the ability to work independently besides with a team. I am compelled by genetic and molecular studies of human genetic disorders, I see this online platform will increase my experience in writing, communication skills, the teaching methods and using technology besides earning.
