I have been a professional illustrator for more than twenty years, and I am proficient in drawing and painting in both traditional and digital mediums. I hold a Bachelor of Fine arts in Illustration from Long Beach state University. I have worked on children's books, coloring books, comic strips, graphic novels, logo designs, and merchandise designs.
For most of my career I worked at Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California, USA as an artist, creating artwork that they sold in shops and galleries as original art, Limited Edition prints, and printed on merchandise, such as on watches as part of the Disneyland Art Watch program. Work here required me to reproduce the look and style of many different existing Disney properties from project to project.
I was called upon to perform as a Chat and Draw Artist, sketching Disney characters for guests at special events all over the country. I also performed "how to draw" stage shows at Disney special events.
I was a founding member of the Disneyland Resort Sketch artist program, Drawing Disney characters for guests in the theme parks, and was a trainer for later generations of sketch artists.
I was also a founding member of the Disneyland Ink and Paint Program, and was trained in special cel painting techniques by veteran Ink and Paint artists at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. In my role there, I created designs for collectable hand painted animation cels and their background paintings, and personally painted hundreds of cels over the years.
I look forward continuing my creative life as I reach for new opportunities.
