Giovanna was born in São Paulo, Brazil. She already started developing a passion for storytelling while taking part in a theatre group since the age of 9. She studied Arts, Culture & Media at the University of Groningen, majoring in Theatre & Film. There she took part in the theatre society GUTS, where she was part of, acted, and directed various plays. After graduating, she went to do a one-year film production course at the Dutch Film Academy, where she was also the production assistant to 5 short films. She’s been doing her MA in Serial Storytelling for the past two years and is finishing it this June.
