The Role
As an Accounting Manager you will know everything about MessageBird accounting process and will make sure that business activities are translated properly to IFRS accounting language. You will have a massive impact through working closely with the Finance Controller and other colleagues in the broad finance team as well as other departments. Thanks to your work ethics, great accounting knowledge and ability to follow the financial impact of month end activities from start to finish, you ensure accurate reporting.
What you’ll do
Manage and oversight of accounting processes and procedures
Complete monthly and annual financial closing process tasks
Act as IFRS reporting specialist including:
Redefining and improvement overall reporting process
Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements
Help in preparation of consolidated financial statements on a group level
Play a key role in developing and maintaining future reporting needs
Act as sparring partner to external advisors on complex accounting topics
Keep up to date ledgers for key complex accounting topics
Assist and act as key contact in managing annual group audit
Review, approve, and post various accounting entries related to complex accounting topics
Coordinate, and complete various special projects
Managing a team of accountants reporting directly to you
What you’ll bring
8+ years of relevant experience in accounting and controlling, of which 3+ in a people management role
Experience in an international, fast-growing tech company. You know what it takes!
Degree in Business Administration or Finance & Accounting
Working experience with IFRS, global entity structure, multi subsidiary consolidations and solid control environments
Working knowledge of NetSuite (is a plus) or a comparable accounting and reporting platform.
Leadership skills sufficient to organise effective communication within the team.
A keen eye for continuous process improvements, including the ability to innovate and simplify both finance and operational processes.
Experience in the telecom industry is a nice to have
