In this project, Appen is collecting speech data in English to train and develop artificial intelligence algorithms that will be used to improve speech recognition technologies.
We are looking for individuals in Portugal to read and write short sentences using our Appen Mobile app.
Project Description:
The task consists of 600 short sentences that you will need to read from the screen and record using the Appen Mobile app. Focus only on sentences that are written in Portuguese, you don't need to create your own sentences.
An example of a sentence you'll have to read: "Okay Alexa, I need directions to work."
Task Duration:
Each sentence will take an average of 3 to 6 seconds. For the 600 audios, it should take 3 hours. We recommend that you take a break from the task every now and then, and we will give you at least 7 days for your recording session.
Key Requirements:
-The candidate must have a new smartphone
if it's iPhone, it has to be iPhone 8 or newer
if it's Android, the cell phone has to be from 2017 or newer
-Must be a fluent English speaker living in Portugal
-Be able to record in a very quiet environment, free of background noise
