ATI is searching for a seasoned mechanical engineer to help design new automotive drive train parts and modify our existing deigns. Our engineers work closely with our production floor personnel and our machine shop staff.
Job Responsibilities:
• Working independently, designs, develops, and fabricates complex high-precision performance automotive parts from original designs, prints, sketches
• Aids in multiple projects a fast-paced design engineering environment
• Consistently meets deadlines and requests
• Tracks designated parts from creation to production including associated parts in Bill of Materials
• Uses dial caliper and micrometers with tolerances in the thousandths
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree-Mechanical Engineering
• Three (3) years Autodesk Inventor-AutoCAD Mechanical and/or AutoDesk Inventor required (We have latest AutoDesk software)
• Experience with 2D and 3D modeling
• Strong attention to detail
• Willing to explore multiple options to provide best solution
• Good feed-forward communication skills
• Able to design for manufacture
• Able to work as a team
Preferred Qualifications for Exceptional Candidates
• Any experience with a fully programmable Hexagon CMM and a manual CMM a plus
• Experience with robotic material handling
• Knowledge of automatic transmission/torque converters a plus
• Automotive mechanical knowledge beneficial
