POSITION SUMMARY Analyze, develop, and publish various reports regarding recalls, safety alerts, and corrective actions for medical devices and pharmaceuticals in support of the Alerts and related technology businesses. Essential Functions Statements(s) Write, post, and review reports for each assigned medical device recall, hazard, or safety alert. Write, post, and review reports for assigned non-device recalls, including food and pharmaceutical reports. Coordinate with Device Evaluation Project Officers to determine relevant clinical specialty tagging, recommended actions required, and appropriate manufacturer follow-up that may be needed in conjunction with assigned alerts. Contact device manufacturers to gather additional information on action recommendations and provide the opportunity to review. Distribute ongoing action items for review to appropriate Alerts editors. Accountability Metrics: Number of reports processed and posted to the ECRI Alerts website. Timeliness in processing reports from receipt to posting. Prioritization and management of assignments with minimal supervision, following the training period. Experience: 2-3 years recent experience as a professional writer Must have excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to abstract medical and technical materials. Must be detail-oriented and have accurate data entry skills. Education: Bachelors degree required, preferably in a life science and/or English/journalism profession Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products Certifications & Licenses: N/A
