A Data Entry Clerk is responsible for transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems. Their transfer of data happens manually or using scanners. They type in customers' information and create spreadsheets, verifying them against source documents at different stages during the process. Responsibilities: Generate weekly and monthly reports regarding sales information or areas to be improved upon Gathering invoices, statements, reports, personal details, documents and information from employees, other departments and clients. Scanning through information to identify pertinent information. Correcting errors and organizing the information in a manner that will optimize swift and accurate capturing. Ensure proper updates of required software and train new employees as needed on company processes Creating accurate spreadsheets. Entering and updating information into relevant databases. Ensuring data is backed up. Informing relevant parties regarding errors encountered. Storing hard copies of data in an organized manner to optimize retrieval.
