About the Opportunity: Tucows is looking for a dedicated Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team! We are looking for an individual that wants to gain exposure to a diverse set of Finance roles and responsibilities across our group of businesses. We want you to truly be an instrumental part of our month-end close and consolidation process with your Corporate and Mobile Services accounting responsibilities, but also help us build out and craft the future of Financial Planning and Analysis at Tucows! We want someone who enjoys a hands-on approach and can bring takeaways from past finance roles to help us continue to grow. This opportunity is for someone that consistently delivers high-value work within an agile finance team and loves seeing the impact of their work in real-time. What You’ll Be Doing: Corporate Accounting (25%) Assist with the preparation of monthly reporting packages for business leaders, including variance analysis, providing leadership with insights, headcount, risks and opportunities for management of their financial results. You will also support the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual SEC Filings (Form 10Q/10K) to shareholders, as well as ad hoc projects as required. Less often, you will work with the SOX & Internal Controls team to detail, verify, and update key controls as well as with external auditors in support of SOX controls testing, quarterly reviews, and annual audit. Wavelo Accounting (50%) Assist in the full cycle accounting for our newest SAAS business - Wavelo. This includes billing and revenue accounting, treasury management and forecasting, month-end balance sheet entries, reconciliation and reporting. You will work alongside both internal and external partners to ensure the completeness and accuracy of information in your workflow. Financial Planning & Analysis (25%) Support the development of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and investigate results versus budget and forecast for the consolidated business. You will accomplish this by working collaboratively with a wide range of business partners across the organization and developing a deep understanding of performance drivers that assist business decision makers in the development of action plans to meet financial goals and mitigate risks. You will build and update of financial models to support ongoing management reporting requirements. You will also coordinate the production of insightful, valuable analysis that will help drive financial results through fact based decision making. Qualifications Required: -A minimum of 2-3 years of related financial reporting or planning and analysis experience, preferably with multi-currency, multi-location, SaaS or telecommunications exposure. -A bachelor degree in Commerce/Business with a specialization in Finance or Accounting. Knowledge of US GAAP is preferred. -A relevant professional designation (CPA, CFA, or CBV). -Advanced knowledge in the use of Excel, including complex formulas and financial modelling techniques. -Technically savvy, with an ability to learn new systems (ERP/BI systems) and use system capabilities -A proactive self-starter with outstanding work ethics who is capable of taking initiative, balancing work, and keeping commitments all with a positive demeanor. -A phenomenal teammate with strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to form connections across functions and all levels of the organization, including non-finance personnel and executive level. -Comfortable with shifting priorities, handling ambiguity and new challenges -Has and wants to succeed in a fast-paced, performance driven environment -Maintain the highest standards of accuracy and precision; excellent attention to detail, result-focused, highly-organized and resourceful Want to know more about what we stand for?
