How you'll Succeed
Build an understanding of the business model, objectives, and our role in global health security related to the data of high-impact pathogens.
Make meaningful contributions to our core product vision and strategy by collaborating with leadership teams.
Create an infrastructure roadmap for upgrading and transforming our database architecture.
Design a plan to build a scalable, resilient, and observable platform fit for this and other pathogens.
Partner with Product, Bioinformatics, and Data teams to deploy user-facing features, such as complex reporting tools and analytics products, from ideation to ship.
Provide mentorship and coaching to a growing team of developers.
Champion an incredible engineering culture by introducing efficiency, high standards, and best practices.
Help align engineering with key objectives and goals. Set metrics and KPIs for measuring performance.
Support the hiring, development, and onboarding of junior and mid-level engineers.
Experience with key technologies:
NoSQL and/or scalable database experience
Leadership experience: including leading distributed teams towards a single mission and vision.
Effective communication: ability to distill complex solutions into simple ideas, across both technical and non-technical audiences.
Architecture: experience with managing infrastructure initiatives at scale.
