This position is primarily responsible for projects and assignments which support the various companies’ tax functions. The position will also interact and work on projects and assignments to support accounting staff with tax related assignments.
Responsibilities of the Tax Analyst:
Prepare REIT tests and help maintain related compliance with REIT rules.
Prepare documents to support internal/external auditors and tax advisors.
Assist with income tax projections, including those related to forecasts and budgets.
Assist with estimated tax payment calculations and ensure all tax payments are made timely and recorded accurately, working with AP/Tax Assist with income tax provisions and supporting schedules, including documenting uncertain tax positions.
Assist in review of tax account balances, working with the accounting team.
Maintain tracking of all compliance and filing statuses
Prepare responses to IRS, state, and local tax matters, ensuring appropriate tracking of communications and responses, and assist with any related audits.
Assist with special projects as assigned.
Required qualifications of the Tax Analyst:
Bachelor’s Degree in Tax or Accounting
Strong organization skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and processes while meeting deadlines.
Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to successfully exercise independent judgment and discretion.
Assertive, self-motivated, team-oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of REITs and Partnership taxation a plus
