Receptionist

Call Centre Receptionist for Out of Hours urgent Doctor--on-call service. This is a busy call centre where I must prioritise patients according to need, and then liase with Triage Nurses on site, and Doctors remotely, to look after them. I also perform billing and other general secretarial duties during quieter periods. Before the pandemic I was trained as an Auditor for my orgsnisation in ISO9000 standards. Recently I have commenced a mix of Remote and on-site work with my company.

Secretary to Director

A 3rd level national maritime training institute for ship's crew and officers. As Secretary to the Director, I had the responsibility of editing all the Institute's official documents. I also had to fulfil a role as Secretary to the Board of Directors whenever they met. Further I was responsible for training new Receptionists for the Institute. While there, I was sent on a Public Relations training course through PRISA (Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa) within which I achieved first place in the course assessment. This training enabled me to help the Institute to create a brand identity within all official correspondence, website, awarding ceremonies, etc.

I was asked by the University to teach an evening course to local people who needed to improve their written and spoken English for their work. Their companies paid their course fees to the University. I was provided with all the materials and some brief training. This was a very interesting and enjoyable experience.

My main role in this company was to edit all documentation to the overseas market. The brochures, website and sales presentations were my main focus. I was also responsible for representing the company at marketing events including Africa's largest trade show INDABA in South Africa and the World Travel Market in London.
