Achieved the study of conserved ortholog set (COS) markers to phylogenetics and evolution screening of wild carrots (Daucus) and related genera. Designed and validated a set of primers from Arabidopsis COS markers database and carrots ESTs to investigate ortholog relationships between both groups and potentially used for mapping population. Applied phylogenetic software and molecular tools analysis, such as Staden package, ClustalX, MacClade, PAUP, Mr. Bayes, and others.

Conducted COS markers testing for marker-assisted selection in potato. Assessed polymorphism/allelic diversity and phylogenetics gene analysis oforthologous candidate genes. Assembled DNA sequences from candidate gene families and analyzed gene family diversity within and across species. Subsequently analyzed the allelic diversity in these candidate genes in large germplasm panels based on single nucleotide polymorphisms. Molecular, genetics and bioinformatics tools widely used, such as primer design and testing, database searching, assembling sequences and cloning.
