PROJECT GOALS The main goal was to come up with a design for a simple to use App with both the sender and receiver having a great experience, where SMS’s are sent and received alerting both people that a gift has been accepted, shipped and received, the sender also had the option of rounding the cost of the gift up and nominating a charity, another great experience that had real meaning. DESIGN PROCESS The client had only a rough idea of how this app should work and some user stories. So basically, everything should have been done from scratch. At first, it was quite difficult to understand how to implement all the features in the design and create a general structure. That is why I suggested to the client not to start with wireframes, but with generating the general structure and user-flow, thereby simplifying and speeding up the project work process. After the flow and rough MVP was done. we tested it on the client’s focus group to receive feedback from potential users. The focus group could not fully understand how to navigate through the screens of the application, so instead of the Hamburger menu, we decided to use the bottom navigation, which simplified the process of familiarizing with the application features. RESULT After approving the wireframes I came up with several UI design concepts. They were distinguished by their stylistics, from a strict classical style to a more illustrative and funny. Ultimately, focusing on user feedback, we got a bright, colorful but at the same time user-friendly application, thereby achieving the goals and needs of the client.
