I started my career as an IT technician in an academic department, where I worked for 10 years. Majority of my time was dealing with students, settuing then up for lab sessions and tutoring them during lab sessions. I advanced in overseeing staff to assist with the lab setups and software deployment. I also managed the departments budget for lab expenses.
I was seconded and eventually filled the position of a Software Programmer for the past 6 years supporting our ERP system. I generated reports for customers, internal and external auditors. Created new program and deployed then to our Live environment. Managed our team budget and expenses. I provide support to customers and ensure that they can navigate and execute requests effectively on our system. If bugs occur, it is escalated to our service provider to deploy patches/fixes.
