Cover design This book is a collection of works by the Iranian visual artist “Amir Mousavizadeh”, who has received close attention from the art audience which belong to different Iranian generations. His artistic activities include sculpturing, photography, video art, painting and jewelry design.
Without resorting to imitations which are common in Middle Eastern commercial art, he represents the advent of new trends in Iranian art with inspirations from the world of contemporary art avant-garde. This modernism has introduced a large number of independent young artists to the world art within the last two decades. Although we sometimes observe similarities of these artists' works to Western art (European or American style) and its direct impact on these artists, we can notice that these youths are noble, honest, independent, and creative artists due to the inherent characteristics of their arts.
By invitation and participation of SAFPEM Institute (Middle East & Europe Specified Institute of Contemporary Arts) in Paris and Canada and also Storia Editions in France and England, this book was prepared in Persian and English and was formally released all over the world. This book's content was compiled on the basis of important notes, facts, and statements relating to exhibitions and works of the artist belonging to more than twenty years of artistic activity.
Ultimately, I am eternally grateful to the cooperation, participation, and support of the project's colleagues in Iran, France, England, Germany, and Canada. Undoubtedly, these types of projects cannot be carried out without the support and interaction of the professional groups of pioneers and local communities of art and culture. Hopefully, these activities can provide opportunities for the development and promotion of arts and cultures throughout the world irrespective of current political conditions. Introduction of ongoing discourses of Middle Eastern communities and their various art trends can certainly make contributions to more interactions with the development of world art approaches. This crucial step is valuable for cultural participations and deeper awareness of Iran and Middle Eastern art in the future among the global audience.
