PAIN POINT: Orientation in content
SOLUTION: Non-curated hot spots

When a user interacts with an audio recording track, it can be traced and translated into a hot spot. We automatically generate hot spots that tell the current user which parts of the track, on average, had the most interactions—where others have found it interesting/valuable. SOLUTION: Curated hot spots

The author of the podcast can create hot spots on parts of the podcast that they think are most interesting/valuable. Those hotspots are indicated between the dots on the time bar. If the user long presses the dot, they will get a short “tooltip” with a hint about the topic discussed in that part of the podcast. PAIN POINT: Orientation in content

PAINPOINT: External noise
SOLUTION: Voice boost

Users need a fast, easily reachable control that digitally boosts the volume of narrators voice to overcome external noise. When commuting or doing housework, users usually don't have hands free. Therefore, I've designed a voice boost feature that is always reachable, especially from the lock screen. So the user only needs to reach their phone and tap the home button to enter voice boost. PAINPOINT: Cost
SOLUTION: Subscription

The user gets a free week of full content. If they want to keep access to the content, they can subscribe to a 3-month or a full-year plan. Therefore the user pays once for the platform that gives unlimited access to content rather than for a specific podcast or episode. PAINPOINT: Cost SOLUTION: Subscription

This project is a spinoff of an app that I have designed for an IT agency. The original project was a mobile app for audiobooks. I've led multiple workshops with clients and the production team, created user flows, wireframes, personas, empathy map, project proposal, and the final UI for both the mobile app and the web landing page (the landing page is not recreated in the spinoff project). Since user research has shown that Croatian users in targeted audiences rarely listen to audiobooks and are more prone to listening to podcasts, I created this alternative project where I angled product into that direction. I also designed features that address the main pain points and user needs that have come up during the research. My role was: - Discovery and UX workshop facilitation - Project management - User research: Interviews - Empathy map - Persona - User flow - Wireframes - Information architecture - User interface (UI) - Prototyping - UX documentation
