Final University Project

Saida, city of the fishermen, is threatened to lose its identity. It is losing its relationship with the sea. It has become a labyrinth city with almost no access. The ancient city, once protected by the orchards and the sea has become cloistered and isolated after the development of the newly built city on one hand and the maritime highway on the other. This extraverted development has neglected the Medina, which is the heart of Saida. My project aims to remedy this segregation and make Saida accessible while preserving the cultural heritage and the accumulated historical layers.
