In a crowded marketplace the client wanted to stand out with cost estimation data so clients could see what each plan would cost them for their specific prescriptions and doctor office visits based on their health conditions. I hunted down open data sources and went through years of data from the FDA and NIH to make that a reality. We also had to integrate with a large insurance data provider's API which wasn't exactly formatted for me to get the data I needed to make these estimates. It was a challenging road but the end result was worth it. I also setup a mass plan data sync using DynamoDB and AWS Lambda serverless functions for the backend. AWS Lambda and serverless architecture were used throughout this project for the API as well.
