Peep

Peep is an up and coming glasses brand based in Brighton, UK. Peep prides itself on promoting diversity and uniqueness through wacky frames and colors to suit anyone and everyone. They are looking for a designer to create a brand logo, business card and accompanying pattern to be used across all their collateral. They want the brand and pattern work to represent summer, positivity, and self love. Their slogan is "sunglasses your way", which evokes a feeling of self expression and customization. Your design will need to intrigue customers to step out of their comfort zone an try something new. The client is looking for a bold, colorful and fun approach, with the hope of the brand being playful and informal. Immediately, I felt a bright, saturated yellow-orange was a necessity to best exemplify the happiness and summery mood they need. While sketching the different versions of logo's, I discovered that I wanted this type to be rounded with soft edges, curly, sans-serif, and bold. What came from sketching this logo was the creation of the two main marks that create my pattern - the first inspired by the hooks on glasses that go around your ear and the second taking from a cartoon smirk. The pattern I created differs from each icon depending on which added feature I gave that face: either a funny eyebrow, different nose rings, a tongue, an eye ball, or freckles! I wanted this pattern to draw back features from the logo, while also referencing the customization abilities and inclusivity of the brand.
