Vanguard

Visual Development for 2D Animated short film. Set in 1920s Hollywood film set during the Golden age of filmmaking. “Vanguard” is a story about Ada Grant, a talented movie star that discovers a powerful and colorful way to change the world. The world in this 2-d animated short is all in black and white, not just the movies. When Ada finds a mysterious bottle on her dressing room vanity, she grabs it and finds a glittering dust that she’s never seen before. A loveable clutz she spills the dust all over herself and her vanity and finds that the glittering dust makes the gray world around her vibrant and colorful. What she does next is commandeer her friends to create the first all color film, but they face challenges from the studio head who is against change of any kind.
