Having served articles at KPMG, in the Republic of Maldives & Sri Lanka, I am an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Bringing with me over 30 years of industry experience spanning Manufacturing of Animal feeds, Processing of Chicken & By-Products, Trading in Wholesale & Retail, Poultry Farming, Specialized Building Materials Trading & Specification Business etc. Worked as DGM Finance at leading Government Owned Super Market Chain, Lanka Sathosa Ltd (LSL) with additional responsibilities from time to time for 3 ½ years covering up Marketing & Operations, Quality Assurance, Acting as CEO twice. Before re-joining LSL, worked as Chief Executive Officer for 1 ½ years in setting up Poultry By-products exporting company with further Processing & Poultry Farming and Chicken Processing sector. Lastly worked for Private University as Operations Administrator which I left within 3 ½ months. Worked for Private Equity Company’s Investee as CFO & Company Secretary in Specialized Building Material Trading Business in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) & Gulf Countries. Before moving into KSA, worked as the Group Finance & Administration Manager for the 3rd largest poultry integrator, CIC Feeds, subsidiary of CIC Holding PLC involved in Animal Feed Production, Animal Nutrition Business, Breeder & Hatchery company including Chicken Processing.
I am a firm believer in enabling Enterprise Growth to achieve sustainable growth in profitability. Once convinced on the Board Strategy, I am devotionally passionate in spearheading vision by immersing in the operationalizing through enterprise-wide planning activities, to garner insights where it fulfils clarifications via an appreciation for the underpinnings and reasonableness of the assumptions used which has served well whenever reviewing annual budgets, long range plans, key capital investment project plans. My perseverance has driven the firms involved into greater profitability. In doing so, I am accustomed to working under pressure coming from all quarters and possess a track record of upholding highest standards of professionalism and best-in-class practices in governance to safeguard the best interests of the shareholders.
A noteworthy highlight is when CIC decided to move into total integration thus initiating capital projects, I have seen them completed in set time and moved quickly into revenue generation while functioning as finance leader.
Comfortable with engaging with Board of Directors, External stakeholders including Shareholders, Banks, various Government Authorities that include General Treasury & its other departments, Board of Investments, Customs, Inland Revenue, Central Bank, Parliament’s Select Committees. Further, I possess extensive experience in dealing with leading Audit Firms such as KPMG, E&Y, PWC, BDO in Sri Lanka & KSA for Internal/ External Audits, Forensic Audits, 2 Due Diligence Assignments, Tax, Advisory services and with leading lawyers on varied matters needing legal expertise and/or representations.
