The Everest Base Camp holiday is one of those unusual vacations you’d sure want to do before you depart from this planet. This trek, which follows in the footsteps of legends, goes by well known paths at the higher altitudes of Phakding and clings to the Dudh Kosi river as we move to the upper regions through sprinkled sherpa villages to the happening Sherpa capital of Namche, a busy bazaar that’s a fundamental start-up point for budding trekkers, the local Sherpa folks from around the region gather here to trade essential goods and for expeditions en route to the mother peak of Mt. Everest. All along the trail, villages are laden with splendid forests of rhododendron, magnolia and giant firs. In early autumn and late spring, this area of the journey is literally carpeted with pretty colorful flowers, that bring your emotions to life and will find a place in your memories for some time to come; the wonders of this particular area will give you pictures to brighten the favorite corners of your sweet home…the Mt Everest Base Camp journey has always been a big draw for trekkers heading to Nepal’s Himalayas. The innovative trail via the Jiri route got sunshine status when Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Sherpa successfully summitted Mt. Everest in the early 50s; however, after Sir Edmund witnessed upfront what the local folks had to suffer in this region, the Hillary Trust built an airport at Lukla to ease the sufferings of the sherpa people and today most backpackers prefer to fly in for the famous EBC trek, but there are those that still go for the old well known Jiri trails that go through a humid belt of villages and diverse landscapes that offers more of nature to enjoy as you head down to Namche.
It’s a subject of your choice where your trip can now begin with a 30 minute flight before you blaze the trails to glory. It’s only after you check out From Namche, that you get the first good sights of this mother of all peaks – Everest – towering over the planet. Our trip pulls the curtains down at Everest Base Camp before we make a beeline down to Pangboche, Namche and Lukla for our flight back to Kathmandu and a soft snug bed at our hotel. Day 06: Tengboche – Dingboche (4481m)
Day 07: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche
Day 08: Dingboche – Lobuche (4930m)
Day 09: Lobuche – Gorak Shep (5160m) – Base camp (5365m)
Day 10: Gorak Shep – Pheriche (4283m)
Day11: Pheriche – Namche bazaar (3500m)
Day 12: Namche Bazaar - Lukla(2800m)
Day 13: Lukla to Kathmandu fly
Day 14: Free Day in Kathmandu. This day your rest and shopping day.
