Serengeti spirits launched late 2021 as a micro distillery, producing a range of exotic and exciting alcohol spirits which are based on animals of the Serengeti and tropical fruits of the island of Zanzibar. This is a small family venture, to celebrate the birth of our first child and combination of our cultural backgrounds. I took over a year out to set up the company from the ground up, including hiring a very small part time team, covering marketing, operations & finance. This company runs totally in the background with me taking a back seat, as more of a non-executive director that provides direction and financing of the company’s activities. I can review its performance and strategic direction and then instruct any actions via our appointed finance manager.

Senior Finance Analyst

Contracted in as the finance member, for the largest RFP in Nationwide’s history. I worked on all financial related requirements for the project to include modelling on our current MI, producing strategic proposals for the board, financial analysis to various areas of the project, such as delivery leads, procurement, architects, legal and the wider finance team. Undertake analysis and due diligence on the adjudication for the external proposals from our key suppliers. Business area covered is strategic investment, which is more of our core technology services. I have produced a number of reporting models, that are now widely used across different areas of the business and are achieving recognition at board level.

I was the Finance Director and one of the founding partners of two Seafood brokerage companies. My responsibilities covered all of the financials for these, which traded primarily live Canadian lobster, all over the world. I managed all our staff, across the UK, Canada, China & Dubai. I also assisted in generating ideas for business growth and got involved in decision making for all the operations of the businesses. My holistic approach of wanting to be involved in all of the company’s departments, meant I had an understanding of all roles of the business from top to bottom. The companies had a combined turnover in excess of $15m US dollars per annum, which my business partner and I, built from scratch.
