I’m a native Brazilian who’s been living in Portugal (Coimbra) for the last 32 years. I have a degree in Sociology, which included Economy, HRM, Labour Law, Organisational Sociology and Statistics. In 2014, I successfully completed a course in Entrepreneurship sponsored by the IEFP.
My professional background includes working as senior administrative assistant at Poliglota Translation Services and as manager of the Centro de Congressos e Incentivos Multicenter (Grupo Amorim/Casino Figueira-Praia). The various duties included:
• Planning, marketing and implementation of all relevant services;
• Customer acquisition, retention and follow up;
• Recruitment, reception and supervision of interns, and of support and translation teams;
• Multifaceted general office tasks – business correspondence, bookkeeping, sourcing for suppliers, invoicing, scheduling and coordinating events, analysis and analysis of various indicators;
• Business communication.
Since 1995, I have been working as a freelance translator, but I also had some recent experience working as a call centre operator in both telecommunication and airline companies (MEO and TAP)
I’ve good computer skills. I’m also proactive, organised and customer-focused.
I’m fluent in English, the result of seven years of language studies plus six years’ residence in the UK.
Finally, my academic background, added to my personal and professional experience (living abroad; several foreign travels; foreign clients and co-workers) has resulted in good communication and negotiation skills as well as an appreciation for teamwork.
