I am Anna, a 23 year old friendly, confident, open-minded, creative, motivated and qualified woman from Northern Ireland with key teaching experience. I have a passion for languages and I love sharing this passion with others through teaching. I love experiencing new things, helping people and I enjoy working with children, teens and adults. I love learning and growing in my knowledge of different languages and cultures, so in September I moved to Spain to immerse myself and improve my language skills even further.

Improving communication skills in Spanish and English.
Helping and supervising in the classroom, canteen and playgrounds.

groups.
Stimulating and encouraging the children through play, reading and other
activities.
Planning and creating my own lessons and teaching classes myself.
Putting the International Baccalaureate Programme into practice, key in the SEK
learning curriculum.
Forming positive and valuable relationships with students, staff members
and other placement students (both Erasmus and Spanish).
Leadhill Primary School
Apr 2018 – Jun 2019
Belfast
Spanish tutor
I took the initiative to contact Leadhill Primary School in 2018 to offer an extra curricular Spanish club. The school was delighted to offer me the role and this lead to the principal asking me for timetabled classes too during the daily school schedule.
Responsibilities included:
Planning, preparing and delivering my own interactive, fun, innovative
and interesting lessons.
Adapting classes according to the students’ abilities and class sizes.
Teaching a new Spanish topic to the students every week.
Encouraging students to participate in individual work, group work and
working in pairs.
Controlling the classes and assuring that the lessons were carried out
smoothly and confidently.
Providing support and help to the students whilst establishing authority as
their teacher.
Successfully using technology.
Helping students to achieve their best and make excellent progress with
their Spanish.
Working as a Spanish tutor in a primary school was very beneficial. It helped me to
improve my confidence and teaching skills before my Erasmus year abroad.
Au pair
Aug 2018 – Sep 2018
Nerja
Au pair
I worked as an au pair for a Spanish family with two children aged five and eight.
Tasks and achievements included:
Playing games with the children.
Encouraging the children to speak English.
Helping the parents to improve their English.
Teaching the family about my own country, language and culture.
Initiating conversations in English during mealtimes.
Taking care of the children when their parents were busy.
Spending every day with the family and experiencing the authentic
Spanish lifestyle.
Making incredible improvements in Spanish.
Developing an even higher level of confidence and communication.
After a month of my help, the children had made incredible progress with their
English. I formed valuable relationships, not only with the parents and children, but
also with the extended family with whom I remain in contact.
