About
Beau Shaw (he/they) is a self-taught, Calgary-based creative whose main body of work includes software implementation consulting, A/V technologies consulting and operation, photography, videography, website design, graphic design, and livestreaming events. He is passionate about empowering individuals and organizations to adapt their ideas and programming for the new digital events landscape! In the last year, he has co-directed, produced and filmed much of the video content for Calgary Pride’s 2020 Virtual Festival. He also provided software implementation consulting and back-end technical support for Calgary Pride, as well as the online International Two-Spirit Gathering (2020). Beau has consulted on and executed several livestream productions for Fake Mustache Drag King Troupe, Cabaret Calgary, Momo Movement, The Alex Community Health Centre, and Inclusive Canada, using several SaaS (Software As A Service) delivery methods and web applications such as: G-suite, Zoom, StreamYard, OBS Studio, Facebook Live, YouTube, Twitch, and Periscope. In October, 2020, The Lougheed House National & Provincial Historic Site commissioned him to consult on and operate a full A/V installation to support their All Hallows Eve production in partnership with Sage Theatre. This allowed the museum and historic site to host this event safely during the COVID-19 pandemic. More recently, Beau had been working with the Community-Based Research Centre as their Summit 2020 Production Assistant, providing video editing and captioning services for their annual National Health Summit on Queering Health Access & Accessibility.
