 As an internal control officer, I ensure regulatory compliance, safeguarding of assets, carry out Account Opening reviews (kyc) and other functional duties that include: l  Review and appraise the soundness, effectiveness, and proper application of accounting and l  Financial controls, compliance procedures and controls and timeliness of documentation generation. l  Identify the risks that a business faces and develop preventive strategy l  Provide training on policy and controls. l  Review Vendor creation, Customer Creation (Agreements), Credit setting l  Credit control (Receivables, staff float outstanding). l  Field force expenses management and control. l  Checking of Consumption vs Bill of materials to detect and eliminate shortage l  Reviewing the Fixed assets register from time to time, physical asset count exercise. l  Supervise the physical Stock Take for all locations . l  Checking of payroll such as overtime, Leave allowance, incentives e.t.c l  Call over of Transactions as per the approved threshold. l  Review system exception override message report, GL/P&L Movement Report, Suspense/Transit/Proxy Accounts and expense and cash advances. l  Conduct Seriality checks/test on Managers Cheque/Bank draft in all business offifices under coverage. l  Continuous review of availed credits to ensure proper approval and operation in line with credit approval. l  Review unauthorized Overdraft, TOD and other credit reports to ensure compliance with the banks credit policy. l  To plan, organize and carry out the internal controls function including the preparation of an audit manual and audit plan. l  Review the responses to internal and external audit management letter queries to ensure that recommendations are implemented and ensure that all action items are resolved. l  Evaluate information security and associated risk exposures Evaluate regulatory compliance program. l   Conduct risk assessment of all departments l AML investigations
