About
I have 10 years of experience as a Scrum Master. In my tenure I have been a Servant Leader to 7 teams. I have worked with team which were collocate as well as distributed and outsource team in India, Russia, Europe and the United States. Four of those teams became High Performing teams. In the last ten years I have also served as a mentor to other Scrum Masters. As an evangelist of Agile principles I have coached a dozen Product Owners on becoming great product owners. I have coached them on refining skills on Story (Items) writing and grooming. I have coached Product Owners on BDD Epic and Story development. I have also Scrum Mastered and coached half a dozen Development teams and Project managers to live within a Scrum framework while delivering viable products in a demanding fast pace business environment. In my years as a Scrum Master I have dealt with a myriad of impediments that range from organizational issues to actual development workflows. I am not a developer but I am highly technical and as such I am very comfortable helping teams to develop the correct story writing for their specific application. I am an evangelist of grooming backlogs to be the “right” backlog for specific products or feature development keeping with Agile principles. I have experience in transitions from Waterfall to Agile and also running teams that supported Scrum and Kanban workflows. I am also a stickler for metrics and retrospective tracking and I’m passionate about transparency of both of these. I have attached a sample of metrics for one of the teams, I was Scrum Master to. I have been a Jira Admin and because of this experience I am comfortable creating and adjusting workflows to suit the team and its goals. I have had the luxury of working with teams that believed in the Agile principles and Scrum framework, but I have also had to work with teams that had a number of functional challenges.

Scrum Master
Hired as a Technical Project Manager but after 6 months was tasked with getting certified as a Scrum Master to begin the process of moving two Web Development teams from Waterfall to Agile principles and to utilize a Scrum framework. The company has merged twice and also acquired two other companies during my tenure, as a result I have had to launch new teams and introduce the process of team improvement several times. The rapidly changing environment presented great opportunities for me as a Scrum Master to improve my own on-boarding skills, Agile/Scrum elevator pitch, and coaching to manage the influx of new team members. While having projects that overlapped the fast-changing environment I developed a stable team improvement methodology that allowed me to integrate local, remote and off-shore developers without losing the teams’ direction towards becoming high-performing teams. I have worked under senior managers that were translating Product Management into what I would define as a fast moving target. For the last 10 years I have Scrum Mastered two teams consistently while operating models changed every 12 to 18 months from internal to partial and outsourced services.
