I am a dynamic multinational & multilingual generalist with 10 years of experience in translations and interpretations in French, Spanish, Portuguese and English. I am passionate about using my skills to support communication and mutual understanding to enhance team productivity. While always improving my translation skills, I have also gained 4 years of experience in new operations set up, project management and process development in 6 different countries on 4 different continents.
More specifically, for the past 5 years, I have taken on significant translation contracts with well-known organizations. I have been working since 2015 with an Africa-based Canadian Charity, interpreting their international meetings and multi-country workshops. I was a Consultant Translator for a Human Rights agency and for an East African social enterprise on Feminine Health. In addition, from 2016 to 2019, I took on important translation projects for an African energy company when they decided to set up operations in West Africa.
It is clear that a strong educational background has provided me with the skills to develop my network, navigate intercultural communication and continue improving my language skills. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, with an Anthropology minor and Global Health and African Studies concentrations, from Macalester College, in the U.S, which I then reinforced with a Master in Management from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
These extensive cross-field and cross-country translation and interpretation experiences, coupled with a strong educational background, while flourishing in a multicultural environment has given me the skills to navigate sensitive intercultural communication, to lead substantial translation and interpretation projects, to always critically think about the way I work, and finally to constantly improve my languages skills.
I am a passionate of the African continent, more specifically of the potential of its youth, which is why I moved to East Africa to live in an environment that always challenges me, motivates me, provokes me and questions me. I am also addicted to extreme outdoor adventures; which started with skydiving in 2010, then bungee jumping the highest bridge in the world in 2012, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and paragliding in 2015. These hobbies balance well with the quietness and stability needed for translation, and my life amidst chaotic African environments stimulates my attention to detail.
I am available for any further information you may need.
