Sometimes the configuration settings get removed during the firmware update process of a dlinkrouter.local device. A user has to reconfigure the settings after the update process. Users are advised to carry out the firmware update process over a wireless connection instead of a wireless one. There must be no interruption or no power off during the update process, it may permanently damage the router.
