The Society is for all those who love London. It was founded in 1912 by a group of eminent Londoners concerned about the lack of planning in the capital.
Luminaries such as Sir Edwin Lutyens, Raymond Unwin, Aston Webb, Beresford Pite, Frank Brangwyn brought people together to debate key issues about the future of the capital - housing, roads, railways, the channel tunnel, bridges and even airports - all high on the agenda today.
Today we continue to be the society for all those who love London and as such, we strive to be representative of the city and its communities.
