I create fertile context able to generate relevant business data. I am an experienced data scientist with
a sweet tooth for creative ways of going into the heart of numbers and choosing the best approach for
continuity and growth. I enjoy artistry in researching and designing data, but at the end of the day, I
always go for the ultimate impact in terms of efficiency and data sustainability. I identify problems by
asking the right questions and I make people find a common language, even if they belong to different
professional lanes. Numbers always tell a story. It is my passion to find that story by deep diving into
the human cognition, psychology and behavior in order to successfully manage to convert data into
clear actionable answers and solutions that all parties concerned can process and implement in the
final result. And I do it with joy, enthusiasm and wits.

For the joy of it - Non Profit Organisation
Mar 2019 – Present
Bucharest
Founder and President
The cultural organization “For the joy of it” aims to conceptualize, produce and promote artistic and
cultural projects, accompanied by the quantitative study of the artistic phenomena. The purpose of the
organization is to carry out projects which promote contemporary Romanian artists in an interdisciplinary
form. The team “For the joy of it” brings together professional skills from data mining, communication,
scenography, music, visual arts. In parallel with the creation of cultural and art projects, for the joy of
it, it aims at quantitative and qualitative research for each project. The organization distinguishes itself
from other existing organizations on the Romanian art market by its approach that brings a consistent
infusion of sociological and statistical exploration tools for art projects. The aim of this approach is to
facilitate the integration of artists and their projects into the contemporary social landscape by building a
link between the three crucial elements in the effort “For the joy of it”: artists, art events, and the public.

Lead Data Scientist
Give me a game and I can break it down to its most sensitive data, crunch them and then tell you its
strong points and innovation opportunities. And – this is even more important – its weak points. This is
how my days looked like at KING.
Alphabetty, a product of the game studio in Bucharest for example: https://apps.facebook.com/
alphabettysaga/ was supported by a BI team of two data scientists: I was the veteran one. I was a
central part of everything from letter probability distribution, to content optimization (release process,
level progression, data supported level design, new level features), monetisation, retention, return,
churn, purchase funnels, install funnels, virality, engagement, cross platform sync (canvas, mobile), cross
network benchmarking, competitor analysis.
I worked on two network projects: one about the impact of new game launches, and the other on game
sessions in order to understand the commonalities and differences between big titles like Candy Crush,
Farm Heroes and smaller KING games.
I have done all this by translating business needs to tech requirements, I have designed and analysed ABtests both systematically and on an one-off basis. I have worked with development teams to make sure
everything was correctly implemented and tracked. I have been a pro-active owner of the entire data
chain for the game. I have developed analysis strategies and performed analysis of complex scenarios,
using R and also Excel. I have written complex SQL queries (Hive, Hue, Exasol) to analyse our databases
with 300+ million players, within Hadoop framework. I have designed clear and unambiguous ways of
communicating, visualizing the results of my analysis and created automated reports using Qlikview,
RShiny Dashboards.

Data analyst
I worked as the only data analyst linking the development team and the linguists team in charge of
collecting, creating and improving data for the training of the statistical machine translation engines.
The main project was the development of an automated system that outsourced linguistic jobs
(Postediting, MT Quality Control, Translation Productivity Tests) to thousands of external collaborators.
My contribution consisted in designing production management templates to help our internal people
manage new projects with little online implementation and helped our developers to minimize the risk
of implementing untested features. I helped minimizing cost and effort of human quality control by
modelling data into indicators that measure the quality of the work done by external associates.
I managed setup experimental projects, I performed statistical analysis using SQLite and VBA and Excel,
and I created infographics. For half an year, I taught a weekly complex internal course in basic statistics
and Excel to my linguist colleagues.

Statistician
I worked in a team of 5 statisticians for a business consultancy company in the FMCG industry. We
performed market segmentation based on consumer needs in 26 countries for Phillip Morris and 2 market
segmentations for Nestle (a nutrition segmentation in Germany and mother segmentation for baby
products in Switzerland).
I used SPSS, R, Excel and Quanvert to apply our in-house segmentation method and performed several
statistical modelling for generating insights to support our clients’ strategic marketing planning. I
shadowed a senior executive in presenting some of these segmentation results in an interactive workshop
to the marketing team at the client’s headquarters.
