This project saw the construction of additional approach tracks at the western end of the railway station, improving efficiency by separating trains travelling to or from different destinations and preventing them from having to cross each other's routes.  Sheffield Inner Ring Road - The scheme was designed to ease congestion and includes a 1.8 km dual carriageway to the north of the city centre, as well as several traffic signal-controlled junctions. It linked the north-eastern and north-western ends of the existing inner ring road at Wicker Street and Hoyle Street when completed in August 2006.
