R&D design engineer in the engineering method department (Aerospace Engine).
During this period at GKN I have worked in the Engine Exit module performing thermal/fatigue analyses and thermal mapping with Ansys Classic, and in the intermediate compressor frame area, performing topology optimization with HyperWorks, optimizing the component reducing as much as possible the weight without losing performance of it, CAD working with Siemens NX/SpaceClaim, investigations among the additive manufacturing techniques to produce the compressor and performing stress/stiffness analyses for composite structures using Ansys Workbench.

Internship in the R&D design department at GKN Aerospace Sweden AB for the elaboration of the master's thesis.
The argument of the thesis concerns the topological optimization and the realization in additive manufacturing of supports present in the rear part of an airplane engine.
The main software used during this period are HyperWorks (Optistruct and Inspire), Ansys (also SpaceClaim) and Siemens NX.
