About
I hold 18 years’ experience from life science consultancy, managing early-stage partnerships and digital pathology. My last role was Partnership Director at Visiopharm, a company known for Software as Medical Device (SaMD) apps within digital pathology. I have a good understanding of managing relationships with pharma/biotech stakeholders such as business developers, clinical managers, or investors. My time managing university-industry partnerships allowed me to expand my focus into different industries such as food ingredients and engineering. I believe I have the ability to translate scientific results into a competitive value proposition, creating business proposals, coaching researchers, ensuring internal alignment of stakeholders and the negotiation of contracts.

Partnership Director
This role focused on a new business function of “partnerships management” within digital pathology . The management saw a need to prioritise which partnerships were important and ensure internal stakeholder alignment. I was responsible to address change management and inform staff on new business processes. However, due to sales outside my mandate not meeting targets, the company board de-prioritised partnerships – making this role redundant. During my tenure, I created a partnership board, developed processes for the QMS and created an assessment process for new partnerships.

Partnership Manager
I reached out to the management of Nordic Innovators to propose a part-time position. I worked closely with management and consultants to introduce them to my network of ‘deep-tech’ venture capital managers across Europe. I also supported their client CEOs with gaining access to partnership managers within deep-tech corporates. I worked on cases in life science, material science and animal health.

Senior Business Development Manager
I was responsible for the commercialization of inventions from life science research, typically drug, biomarker, medical device, or digital health assets. My goal was to create partnerships based on licensing intellectual property to established companies or spinouts. My responsibilities included coaching senior researchers on business practice, managing stakeholders such as investors, industry business developers, patent agents or regulatory consultants, creating pitch decks, and fundraising. I soon realized that most Danish Technology Transfer Offices have a poor reputation with industry stakeholders and the lack of industry experience across the university. Therefore, I focused on deal execution or closing projects that failed to attract interest after marketing. I also worked part-time with external consultancies to build a personal brand and secure a second income.
