While at Ballastlane Applications, I was contracted to Reibus, a fast growing B2B marketplace for industries to buy and sell large amounts of raw building materials. As one of three designers on the team, I was tasked with feature ideation with my assigned product manager, as well as working with business analysts and front-end developers to optimize existing features. I kept my tasks organized in JIRA, a sprint organizer for Agile workflow. My work (both UX and UI design) was done in Figma, and feedback would be received via Slack.
At first, I started off fixing minor design bugs, then was entrusted to move on to bigger features, such as building components and designing for responsive breakpoints. Later on, I was responsible as the main designer for large features, such as the Deal Board, Chatbot, User Dashboard, and Product Page. These projects established my strong fundamentals in information hierarchy. Finally, to finish off my work at this internship, I got to work with the Principal Product Designer directly to rebuild the design system from scratch, adhering to Material Design and WCAG standards.
