I am Ikrame Rekabi, I am 18 old, I live in Salé. I have no brothers or sisters. I took my baccalaureate (Math science B) last year in Morocco. Now I am studying in the American university my bachelor degree in Computer science with the Tomorrow's leaders program.
Talking about me, can't be done without talking about social work, I have been engaged 5 years ago.
I am a very active member in the scientific club of an association in the same street where I live, I animate many workshops and activities about sciences, I prepare some courses, I suggest some fun experiments, in order to improve the children's scientific spirit, and to change the bad relation that they already have with sciences. I spent a lot of time in the same association, and I participate in many activities such as journalism, and that's something that I really love, I am the president of the club of small journalist, and so I do many interviews with artists, politicians, kids..., I like editing the videos, and I like shooting during some events and festivals.
I like sport too, I often run the morning near the beach. Also, I have many friends, so I like to hang out with them from time to time. Furthermore, I love discovering new things, and meeting new people all over the time, so I have always the opportunity to talk with new people, either volunteers who come to the association, or theachers in the American language center, or people that I meet in the festivals, meeting new people gives me the opportunity to meet new minds and ideas, and that makes me flexible and sociable, so that I can become a part of a group easily. I am also opened to any new challenge, I always participate in competitions, either scientific ones (I have participated for three years in RACE TO SPACE), or linguistic ones (I have participated in public speaking, reading and spelling bee contests), and I always participate in contests in my school, in different domains. Moreover I am interested in international programs for leadership or sciences, and I am an alumni of 1000 GIRLS 1000FUTURES, which is a program organized by the New-York Academy to provide the guideness to 1000 girls all around the world who are interested in STEM, and we benifit from lessons in many domains(leadership, communication, post secondary school readiness).
For me civic engagement is a very important part, in addition that I am a member of an association, I am a member also in Community Service Program, in the American Language Center, and I participate to many activities with them(blood drive, clothes driving, teaching English to immigrants, blend people and to people with disabilities, tutoring, beach clean up..).
I am fascinated by the entrepreneurship world, so I'm a mentee in digi girlz program, I participated in Be inspired camp with my summer of discoveries, I have been one of the best 10 participants, my team won the 3rd price for the project we worked on. I also participated in Hachathon '' Machrou3ek Bin Yeddik '' by Fondation Ababou, and we're in the follow up phase, and I attended so many online workshops and programs (lblane, E-leadership program for girls, KLS with AISEC, class 8, moor learning)
