I am currently the ESF Compliance Officer for the North East Ambition programme, which is aimed at fostering growth among small to medium sized businesses. The North East Ambition programme is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). Key Duties - Assessing eligibility criteria for potential customers / participants. - Conduct audits and evidence checks to maintain 100% compliance. - Develop and implement robust compliance procedures and controls. - Resolving issues promptly and effectively. - Provide guidance and training on compliance. - Prepare and submit accurate reports to the programme’s funder. - Implement corrective actions and mitigation strategies to address risks and issues. - Collaborate with external auditors. - Complete investigations and implement controls to prevent fraud and misconduct. Key Accomplishments - Successfully initiated, managed, and supplied the required evidence for a Project Change Request that led to the programme securing an additional £1million in funding. - Ensuring robust financial management of the programmes £10million pound budget and evidencing strict financial controls through evidence during reporting periods. - Created a customised CRM system specifically tailored for our ESF contract, streamlining processes, and enhancing efficiency in managing client interactions, tracking project outcomes, ensuring quality assurance, and mitigating risk. - Created a comprehensive reporting system with interactive dashboards using data analysis providing insights into strategic decision-making, programme improvements, as well as enhancing data visibility on real-time monitoring of key delivery outputs. - Successfully trained 30+ team members in ESF regulations, report comprehension, programme processes, and company software, resulting in enhanced compliance, improved efficiency and streamlined operations.
