Works: 13 works in 27 publications in 1 language and 201 library holdings Mexican Linguist with 35 years of experience in translation, in general, and remarkable and traceable expertise in many different subject matters. Thanks to my seasoned background in a wide arrange of fields, and deep and proficient interdisciplinary scientific/technical understanding, I can deliver a top-notch end product. The books I have translated may be found in 201 libraries around the world. My professional career as a Translator got started back in 1987 with the Mexican Ministry of Commerce and Industrial Development, National Commission of Foreign Investments. Afterward, I worked as a French and Translation Teacher in Alianza Francesa de México, and International de Idiomas. Then, I worked for 17 years as an Academic Translator having translated 22 books ―targeted at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees― for Addison Wesley, Prentice-Hall, McGraw-Hill, International Thomson, Pearson, and Mazer Corporation. I also worked as a Translator with Editorial Televisa for 10 years assigned to PC Magazine, Smart Business, Popular Mechanics, and National Geographic Society. My Academic Translation specialties include Mathematics, Statistics, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Managerial Finance, Marketing, Economics, Social Sciences, Psychology, IT / Computing, and Mass Media Impact. As regards IT / Computing, this one is a very solid specialty of mine, having translated six books on the subject matter for Prentice-Hall and McGraw-Hill/Irwin, and hundreds of articles with PC Magazine. I served as an Expert Translator for five years in the Mexican Superior Court of Justice of the Distrito Federal and three years in the Office of the Attorney General of Mexico (Special Federal Attorney Office for Colosio Case, General Direction of Forensic Investigations, and Organized Crime Special Force) as an Expert Translator, Translation Coordinator, and Special Forensic Investigator, having participated in joint investigative efforts with other foreign law enforcement agencies. For the last 15 years, I have been primarily devoted to Pharmaceutical Translation, MT Post-Editing, and Linguistic Quality Assurance Edition with different LSPs: Paradise Publishing, Andromeda, Akorbi, WebCertain, ABAM. Specifically, in the Medical / Pharmaceutical area, I have worked with vast amounts of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance documentation, i.e., SOPs, GMP, GLP, QC, Validation; QA; Registration Dossiers, MAA/NDA, CTD, Quality, Nonclinical Study Reports, Clinical Study Reports; R&D; and also with projects entrusted by different departments in the Pharma labs such as Finance, Marketing, Sales, IT, Corporate communications for Chief Officers, Medical devices, Training, Vaccines Dossiers, Medical research and compendial methods (USP, Ph. Eur., BP), and all kinds of material related to COVID-19 as well, from English, French and Italian to Spanish. From January 2007 to May 2009, I worked as a Translator with Paradise Publishing assigned to CSIR, Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company, Riker Laboratories, Curatek Pharmaceutical Limited Partnership, IBM/Banco de España, RENFE, SunGard, COMBI Packaging Systems, Midwest Hotel, UOP LLC, Portek, University of Phoenix, Entel PCs. From August 2009 as of this date, I have worked as a Translator, MT Post-Editor, and Linguistic Quality Assurance Editor with Andromeda assigned to Johnson & Johnson, Bausch & Lomb, Bristol-Myers Squibb, sanofi-aventis group, Abbot, Sandoz, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, Giuliani, Dr. Reddy’s, Roche, Eli Lilly, and Alcon. And, from November 2018 as of this date, I have been collaborating with ABAM as a Translator, and LQA Editor working on projects entrusted by the UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime), and other clients.
