This job entailed capturing all data on a draughtsman's drawing, relevant to the production, as well as data from after production had taken place, into an excel spreadsheet.
Data Interpretation
After some time, I realized I was creating production lists as well as capturing production results. I was able to analyze this data and use the information to better the production.
Data Presentation
I used this new found Data Analyzing skill to present my data to management in order to solve problems in production.
My Data Analysis role only grew from here, and once promoted to Production Coordinator this skill was used for a few more data sets, including Stock-take and Machinery Hours (in this case, square meters).
Production Planning and Management
Production/ Manufacturing Lists
From drawing, I would capture all the details of the Concrete Panels and put them into a "Cutting List". Which is a detailed list of the size of the panel, how many of each size, if there are special notes, the specific product size etc. Also, these lists would need to be done in the order the panels would be loaded, which I explain below. This takes a lot of accuracy and attention to detail.
I would also have meetings with the Supervisors and explore ways in which i could improve the cutting lists that would in turn improve the production.
Logistics
My big part in Logistics is: From drawing, I would capture all the details of the Concrete Panels and put them onto a detailed "Loading List". Which is a detailed list of exactly how the concrete panels should be loaded. Along with this, a detailed Delivery Note is created for each load.
I would also take suggestions from the staff doing the physical loading, as well as the drivers, and make the necessary changes to the loads.
