In my most natural element, I am a communication specialist, and have spent more than a decade in the print and digital media space. As a reporter, I worked on a range of stories: breaking news, impact stories, good Samaritan pieces, scandals, public interest matters, and feel-good works, among others. Subsequently, I took up the reins as the Editor of Citadel, Pune’s oldest and one of the most celebrated lifestyle magazines.
Being the Editor was a learning experience in more ways than one – right from ideation of the monthly themes for the magazine, to assigning stories, managing deadlines, conducting regular meetings, networking, coordinating with the design and printing teams, keeping my team’s morale boosted, and last but not the least, editing, and penning Editor’s notes and a couple of stories.
At present, I am working as a Principal Consultant (Editorial) at a stakeholder communications consultancy. My job is about corporate reporting and sustainability communication, and I mainly work on editing Annual Reports and ESG Reports of different corporates. In addition, I also create content for websites, coffee table books, brochures, blogs, and e-books of conglomerates, educational institutes, government bodies, and startups. My work revolves around four of my core skills: ability to research deeply and gain more insights on a given topic, being adept at grammar and proofreading, impeccable editing, and rewriting content in order to enhancing its readability and impact.
