I am Ravi Shankar Kumar. I am currently working as Studio Manager in BBC Delhi Bureau.
I joined BBC World Service in 2014. Since then, I have been working in different roles for almost 8 years now.
Apart from it, I have 14 years of working experiences with IGNOU, All India Radio, and several other Production Houses based in the national capital area.
My prime responsibilities in Projects I undertake are Audio and Video programme Production in given time duration as per the requirement. I have been responsible for reviewing audio and video raw material, collaborating with production teams and directors to produce audio and video documentaries, short videos, short format and long format radio reports and programmes for online and radio platforms, while meeting strict broadcast deadlines. This included editing footage, inserting text, subtitling, sound mixing, and ensuring appropriate elements in the output.
The experience I gained over these years have taught me the value of teamwork and led me to become a team player. With this experience I have also become an expert in FCPX editing software, Adobe Audition, Illustrator and Photoshop programs.
Few of my programmes have been highly appreciated by BBC radio listeners, readers and other clients.
Also, I am currently live streaming shows on YouTube and Facebook for BBC Language services.
Apart from being a passionate hard-worker, I am a patient and dedicated person with great respect for the work I do. I am always seeking to learn from new opportunities and improve upon myself. I'm also an efficient worker under pressure, I love teamwork and I have decent communication skills.
