About

Hi,👋 I am Kylie A Kenyan born UI Designer with a background in Management living and working in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. With my management background, I bring unique skills to the table that few UI designers have. Hospitality Management has taught me how to work with people, understand client problems and come up with effective solutions. After graduating with a B.A in Hospitality Management from the University of Applied Sciences Bad Honnef, Germany, I wanted to challenge myself so I made my way back to Kenya and took a job on the Kenyan coast as a Hotel Operations Manager. Little did I know this is where I would discover my passion for UI design. During my two-year contract, I was responsible for a variety of advertising and marketing efforts. It wasn’t long unit I found myself dusting off my ‘creative brain’ and was designing a variety of print and digital content for the lodge. It was after my contact ended that I realised that my passion as always been in the creative field so…. I made my career change in 2019 to become a UI/UX designer. 🥳 I enrolled with CareerFoundry and by the end of 2020 I completed both immersive UI courses and a Frontend development course for designers. I am honestly happiest when I am sitting in front of my iMac designing something that will make a difference in the lives of users. 😇 When I am not designing you can find me hiking, kayaking, or taking part in other outdoor activities (you may also find me playing a game of pool and watching a great game of football). ⚽️ Want to know more about me or my professional background?
