I have been illustrating books for 5 years, mostly cartoon style. My work is digital primarily using sketchbook pro (rough sketchwork) and adobe illustrator or photoshop (final art). In addition to illustration, I also have experience with layout, using Adobe InDesign and publishing with Amazon KDP.

Road Construction of Upper Mount Bethel by John Bermingham.
I am currently illustrating a book called "Road Construction of Upper Mount Bethel". This book explains the role of the road crew in our area from fixing bridges to fixing pot holes, and even plowing snow to clear the roads. I will be producing sketches, followed by final art and revisions. I will also be creating a visual layout for the client

The Great Farm Robbery
I completed illustrations for "The Great Farm Robbery" by Julian Klazkin. The book is about how a pair called Simone and Lagree find the perfect opportunity to break into Gerry and Dana's house, however they are overtaken by a goose with a long neck, a mooing cat and a dog that knows karate.
My role was to create sketches, revise based on client feedback (Photoshop/Autodesk Sketchbook Pro were used). Next I produced finalized cartoon illustrations, using Adobe Illustrator.

It's a Peachy Deal by Julian Klazkin
This book is about a toad (who resembles D. Trump)who runs a city with a lot of amenities that are not free. Enter Ruth Bader ladybug who is appalled by his behavior and, after witnessing several incidents, sets him straight and turns him into a peach, giving back to his community in the end.
I conceptualized ideas based on the manuscript, using adobe Photoshop/Sketchbook pro. Following revisions of the sketch work, I created finalized cartoon style illustrations of the work, using Adobe Illustrator.

The Firefighters of Upper Mount Bethel by John Bermingham
This book details the role of 2 local volunteer fire departments for emergency and non emergency situations. They are there if you get hurt, or you might see them pass you in a parade!
My role was to create illustrations based on visual references and manuscript which I used Sketchbook Pro. I then used Adobe Illustrator to create the finalized cartoon illustrations. I also created a layout for print, using Adobe InDesign and Amazon KDP.

Our Family Picture by John Bermingham
Story features JC Bear as a little boy who is happy, although he would really like a little brother or sister to play with. Mommy Dear and Daddy Bear adopt Micheal Bear, and JC immediately notices that Michael is different/darker than the rest of them. Mommy and daddy explain to JC how that is a good thing.
My role was to conceptualize ideas, using pictorial references and based on the manuscript. I created sketches, using Autodesk Sketchbook pro, and finalized the art, using Adobe Illustrator to achieve a cartoon style. I also created a layout for print, using Adobe InDesign, and published the book on Amazon KDP.

Story is about baby animals (human included) getting food to help them grow. I used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for creating final art which followed creation of sketches in colored pencil and ink. Layout for print was created in Adobe InDesign.

A Boomer's Life by Dale Mukavetz
This story is not actually a children's book but a memoir, and my role was to create an illustration for each chapter which was a significant time in the author's life. Concept art was created in marker/colored pencil and final art was created in Photoshop. I created a layout in Kindle Create for ebook as well as a print version in Adobe InDesign/Amazon KDP.

Wally And His Adventures With Cleo by Dolores Hans
Book features Wally, a dog and his friend Cleo who is a kitten. Their owner, Mrs. King has lost a valuable bracelet. During a game of hide and seek, Cleo finds the bracelet, and, thinking it's a shiny rope, wants to keep it, so she hides from Wally. In the end she lets Wally return the bracelet to Mrs. King.
My role was to create sketches for internal illustrations and for cover which were then revised, based on the client's feedback. This work was done in ink/colored pencil. Final sketches were created in Adobe Illustrator. I also created the layout, using Adobe InDesign/published on Amazon Createspace/KDP.

Author Mary Streitmatter wrote story about her children' learning about how their father plants corn.
I conceptualized sketches based on pictorial references and ideas from manuscript, and made revisions in pencil/colored pencil/ink. Final illustrations were digitally created using Adobe Photoshop, and layout was created using Adobe InDesign/published on Amazon CreateSpace/KDP.
