I started my career as an account/cost/audit clerk and was promoted to bookkeeper. In this role, I spent about nine years working for a state-owned company called National Milk Board, which had a monopoly on the production, sale, and distribution of dairy products in Sri Lanka. After that, I pursued other career paths in accounting, including costing, management accounting, and financial accounting in a variety of commercial and industrial settings, including manufacturing, construction contracting, and both domestic and foreign trade. I now work as a freelance independent contractor after retiring from traditional accounting.
