In my 15-year career, my experience as a writer, producer, content director, creative innovator, and production/project manager, in the broadcasting and film business, has spanned over various disciplines; including Podcasting, Radio, Television, Film and general entertainment.
Having started my radio career at Metro FM as an intern producer and on-air contributor for their weekend breakfast show with Sheerez Government, simultaneously, juggling my position as an on-air presenter and producer at the campus radio station (Voice of Wits), and in later years I would return as Marketing Manager and senior producer for 3 more years. My radio career featured many other cameos in other stations, including a 3-year stint at Yebo Radio (VODACOM Retail station), then 947 as a programming and campaigns coordinator. And in 2020 I joined YFM as Executive Producer of the weekday breakfast show, #YMornings.
As a coordinator at a major media company like Primedia, I learned to diversify my producing and creative skills. Sitting in strategy meetings, brainstorming, and briefing sessions with sales, marketing, digital, and video while still being part of the creative solutions team that conceptualized programming and station campaigns, running both on-air, digital and as on the ground activations.
I was able to adapt my radio skills to serve my television career. Within a year of working as a junior producer/writer, I was promoted to senior producer and head writer for Trending SA on SABC 3, and under my leadership, the show received its first SAFTA nomination for Best Talk Show. Other producing and writing credits in Television include; Researcher and Questions Writer Family Feud AFRICA (S1). And this year, I was producer/production manager for a Global Citizen special Documentary, #VAXLive which was broadcast on ABC, CBS, and NBC Networks.
Recently, I was brought in by NETFLIX AFRICA as a Creative Producer (Freelance) for an upcoming project planned targeted at an African audience, responsible for content development and overseeing all creative elements of the project.
I have deep creative production experience (studio, location, agency, freelance, or in-house) and regardless of scale. I have excellent communication (written, verbal skills) and am able to present ideas thoughtfully and articulately, whether to a room of business marketers or a room of designers.
I also have an eye for creative quality (especially as it pertains to resourcing), and an expert understanding of the creative process, and support exploration of high creative standards.
