About
My name is Mila and I am a third-year student at Faculty of Philology, Belgrade University. My major is Oriental studies, specifically Chinese and Arabic language, literature and culture. As a bachelor student, I work hard to develop a stronger foundation in linguistics to complement my knowledge of and interest in languages. I have enrolled in various courses focusing on different language and culture groups allowing me to engage a diverse array of interests in a coherent manner. As my college career progressed, I had the opportunity to study Japanese language and economics, Hungarian literature and culture, Turkish language and literature, Italian history and culture, as well as sign language, translation studies, anthropological linguistics, field linguistics and literary theory. My interest in languages stems from a desire to learn about and understand different cultures, as well as a lifelong love for travel and adventure. I’m seeking opportunities to gain valuable experience outside my comfort zone, develop a global mindset and make new connections that will be infinitely important in the future as our world becomes increasingly interconnected.
