Hi, I am Omar Oyarce, a student attending a master's degree in engineering sciences at the University of Los Andes in Santiago, Chile.
I am currently working on a research project financed by the Chilean government under the direction of my PhD professor José Abell (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Jose-Abell), which consists of a study using computational models to simulate the impact of a possible earthquake on reinforced concrete structures on an important fault in my city.
I carried out the internship related to my master’s thesis at the Italian engineering company ASDEA Corp (Pescara, Abruzzo), in their software division, during July and August. My work consisted of programming scripts in python and c++ to evaluate the performance of structural simulation models that I had also created. I also worked in collaboration with a high-performance computing cluster on a Linux platform to get the results.
I am known for my quick familiarity with the use of software and have an innate ability to coding and solve problems. I am outgoing, enjoy working in groups and very motivated to progress as a professional in Italy. My passions are sports, art and technology (computers, software and robotics).
